An Important update on the future of Partisan

After careful consideration, Partisan has made the difficult decision to close, with all delivery coming to an end on 31st March 2026.

We have not come to this decision lightly.

It reflects a combination of factors that have built over time, including internal capacity, financial pressures and income losses.

We are operating in a deeply challenging funding environment, while trying to pursue a different, values-led approach to change that is anti-colonial and disrupts current systems. Ultimately, the strategy we held for creating change was not able to align with the realities of the current funding landscape.

Between now and the end of March, our focus is on ending our work, commitments and relationships with young people, community members, community organisations, staff and partners responsibly. We will also be trying to learn from what’s happened, and will aim to make this learning available.

We also want to share our learning across the past 5 years designing alternative help systems centring Black and racially minoritised communities, and are starting to plan how this happens.

This decision is not a reflection of the quality, commitment, or impact of our team and collaborators, but of the limits of what is possible without financial stability and the infrastructure to hold the complexities of community-led change work well.

“This is a profoundly sad moment, and I am deeply sorry for the impact this decision has on our team and the communities we care about and are a part of. We are proud of the work Partisan has done and the change we have been a part of creating in the world from practice through to policy.

We are grateful to have worked in collaboration with 43 partner organisations, and delivered a range of projects across South London and beyond to positively impact the community. So while this chapter is ending, the values, ideas and ways of working that have shaped Partisan live on in the people and communities who carried this work forward.”

Jay Perkins, Founder and Chief Executive Officer

We would would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been part of our journey over the last half decade; our team, partners, funders, and the communities who placed their trust in us.

With care and respect,
Partisan

We have been letting our young people, community members, partner organisations and funders know and working closely with them to ensure they are supported as we wind down our activities.

More information regarding our closure will be shared shortly.
